Reading the political blogosphere since Obama’s election, you’d think that the collective IQ of the world has dropped by 20 points. In response to a post about the hypocritically “green” Obama supporters’ litter, the response is:

“do you realize how racist you sound?”

No, I don’t realize how racist he sounded. In fact, he never once alluded to the race of any party involved.

When McCain criticized Obama for his connections to Frank Raines, ultra-Liberal Karen Tumulty called the ad racist.

It seems that every criticism of Obama, no matter how grounded in fact, is going to be met with the singular response:

Racist!

Another blogger related the news article of protests against a restaurant honoring Obama as “Racism at the White House”.

Racism? The protest referenced an opposition to socialism. And socialism is not a race.

I guess it’s not such a bad thing. This current trend of crying “racist” is rather handy. If a person wanted to discredit oneself or otherwise identify oneself as intellectually incompetent, all they have to do is cry racist.
