About John Scott

Millions of loving fans asked me to create this blog.

Not really, but that would be cool. Obviously, my name is John Scott. I was born in the US of A and spent my formative years in Tokyo, Japan. I lived in Tachikawa and went to school at CAJ in Higashi-Kurume, for those of you who are familiar with Tokyo.

I left home 15 and spent some time on the streets. It was an enlightening experience. Spent some time in prison, too. After I got out, I went into construction (single and multi-family residential framing, mostly; but also did some concrete work). I was a licensed contractor in Seattle for several years. It was a blast. Best job on earth.

In 2001 I went into the IT field. I created the v7n.com web development community and ran that for several years before selling it in 2008. I never thought of myself as a IT kind of guy, or somebody who would spent time indoors for that matter. But the community aspect of v7n was an eye-opener for me, and I enjoyed the human interaction more than I expected I would. Getting interviewed and seeing my name in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the Washington Post was fun too. One hell of a ride, and the money was unbelievable.

I sold v7n and shut down my other businesses here in Tokyo in 2008 so I could focus on my studies. I am a full time student of philosophy, but also maintain a strong interest in psychology to the degree that it relates to philosophy of mind issues.

About Individualism.com

I blog because I wish to take part in the evolution of thought. Politically, I’m committed to the sovereignty of the individual. Sounds weird, doesn’t it? It’s not. Somebody has authority over you. When somebody puts a gun to your head and tells you to do something, that individual is asserting sovereignty over you. When you are forced to do something you do not want to do, that is a violation of your sovereignty. Basically, it means you are your own rightful owner, and nobody else is.

You can learn more about my political beliefs by reading my blog.
